The HUMOR Project Is Heading to South America and Antarctica... Plus Some Thoughts on The HUMOR Project's 52nd International Humor Conference
The HUMOR Project is uplifting... way Down Under! Showing that humor is a universal language, Dr. Joel Goodman and Margie Ingram will be leading a program in Buenos Aires on December 5. See Argentina for a taste. After that, Joel and Margie will be heading to Antarctica where Joel will be presenting to a captive audience of passengers and penguins (who are coming in black tie for the affair). This will mark the seventh continent on which Joel has spoken... reflecting Jim Boren's notion that "Laughter has no accent."

We are delighted that our international conference on "The Positive Power of Humor and Creativity" was filled with folks from throughout the U.S., Canada, and abroad (our most "far out" attendee came all the way from South Africa)!

We are also tickled with the terrific testimonials that continue to come our way. The 2008 conference featured a special appearance by the very talented Lucie Arnaz who moderated the LOL (Legacy of Laughter) panel and accepted the Laughtime Achievement Award on behalf of her parents, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. The conference also honored opening keynoter Brett Leake (our highest-rated keynoter in the past 31 years)-- he received the National Humor Treasure Award at the conference. We were delighted to thank "post-humorously" the late Pat Paulsen with the "Never Say Die!" Award (he launched his first campaign for President on the Smothers Brothers TV show in 1968).
